“My belief is helping where you can, and to this end Caro & Co supports several worthwhile Trusts and community groups.” Caro Gatley, Principal, Caro & Co Insurance Specialists.
Caro has seen many clients suffer from breast cancer, some as young as in their 20s, so the topic is close to her heart.
In April 2016 Caro & Co Insurance Specialists sponsored a well-supported New Zealand Women in Business lunch, which raised $1000 for the Waikato Breast Cancer Trust.
Keynote speaker National MP Louise Upston spoke on gender-related issues for women in business. Her theme was women need to support each other, understand and respect each other. Women in business often don’t help other women in business, but will go out of the way to prove themselves to men, she said.
In March the previous year Caro & Co sponsored a Bespoke Health Forum cocktail party, again in support of the Waikato Breast Cancer Trust. Celebrity guests were 2014 My Kitchen Rules NZ winners Neena Truscott and Belinda MacDonald, who spoke about life after MKR.
Caro & Co supported another Waikato Breast Cancer Trust fundraiser in May the same year.
Rolling back further to 2013 saw Caro leap head first into the cause. She took a firm hold of her courage, cast aside vanity, and had her head shaved to support the Breast Cancer Research Trust.
Caro is often in demand as a guest speaker, offering support and advice to the likes of Cambridge Chamber of Commerce’s Optimum group, a networking group for home-based professionals and entrepreneurs.
Caro is an executive member of Cambridge Chamber of Commerce NZ.
Caro & Co has also supported: Waikato Diocesan School Proprietors Board (Trustee), Homes of Hope Charitable Trust, Cambodian Charitable Trust, Surf Lifesaving New Zealand, St Stephens Anglican Church and Red Cross.
